Programme Overview

The CEIBS EMBA programme is a two-year programme offered on a part-time basis. Students meet once a month, from Friday to the following Monday. Located in China's financial and economic centre, the programme is attracting an increasing number of overseas participants across Asia, Europe and America. These students all showcase different cultures and perspectives while building a truly global network.

The CEIBS EMBA International Class, conducted in English, is designed for International and Chinese senior executives who are leading the globalisation efforts of their organizations. While the basic curriculum structure is the same as the EMBA Chinese programme, the International Class is tailored for those students who need more direct cross-cultural experience and will help them develop a network that spans both China and the globe.

The CEIBS mission is to prepare highly competent, internationally oriented managers, who are capable of adapting to the driving forces of business globalisation, international competition, and international cooperation.

Established in Shanghai in 1994, as a non-profit joint venture between the Chinese government and the European Union on the basis of the China-EC Management Institute (CEMI) established in Beijing in 1984, the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) has been leading in all major innovations in business education in mainland China. Widely recognised as the best business school in Asia, CEIBS stands as an example of the success of China-EU cooperation, and as a showcase of the achievements of China's reform and opening up.

Since the school's establishment, Chinese and European leaders have consistently offered ample support to the school's development. On October 13, 2003, China's first EU Policy Paper specifically stated that work should be done to make a success of CEIBS and bring forth more top professionals.

Message from the Director

Maybe the world is getting flatter, but managing global business is not any easier. For expatriates and executives with worldwide responsibilities, success requires not only business expertise, but also political acumen, cultural intelligence, network capital, a good sense of humour, and often, an iron stomach. If your achievements have propelled you to the forefront of your organisation, and you find yourself sailing upon uncharted waters, it is time to join us.

Dr. Liang Neng
EMBA Programme Director and Associate Dean, CEIBS
