The Leading Team for Developing Shanghai into an International Financial Centre, headed by Mayor of Shanghai Municipal, Han Zheng, was established on September 18, 2007. Wu Jinglian - BaoSteel Chair Professor of Economics of CEIBS, and Xiang Junbo - Adjunct Professor of CEIBS & Governor of Agricultural Bank of China, were invited as members of Expert Committee for the Development of Shanghai as an International Financial Centre. This committee is a consulting organ for the Leading Team, with the aim of making strategic decisions more scientific and democratic, as well as providing advice. There are fourteen committee members in total, with tenure of two years for each.
