He was born in Zhuji, Zhejiang. He has MBA degree and title of research fellow. In April 1995, he became deputy general secretary in Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, deputy general secretary of the municipal government. He was once vice director of Municipal Systems Reform Committee, director of Municipal Economic & Trade Commission, and deputy Party secretary of Municipal Industrial Supervision. He was transferred to be deputy mayor of Chongqing in October 2001, in charge of municipal government affairs. | Speaker: Mr. Rajendra S. Sisodia, professor of marketing at Bentley College Host: Prof. Lydia Price, Professor of Marketing, Associate Dean and Academic Director MBA Program Language: English In his current role, Mr. Rajendra works as the professor of marketing at Bentley College, and was previously Trustee Professor of Marketing and the Founding Director of the Center for Marketing Technology. His research, teaching and consulting expertise spans the areas of marketing frameworks, marketing ethics, relationship marketing, measuring and improving marketing productivity, strategic uses of information technology, the marketing of services and marketing strategy. In addition, Mr. Rajendra is a productive author. He has published nearly 100 articles, including in Harvard Business Review. Furthermore, in year 2002, he collaborated with Sheth, Jagdish N on the book named The Rule of Three: surviving and thriving in competitive markets. Besides, in 2007, he also wrote a book entitled Firms of Endearment: how world-class companies profit from passion and purpose. With all the above contributions, in year 2003, Mr. Rajendra cited as one of the “50 leading marketing thinker” by the UK-based Chartered Institute of Marketing (the largest marketing association in the world). In 2007, he was honored with the Award for Excellence in Scholarship by Bentley College. Bentley College founded by Harry C. Bentley in 1917 is a school of accounting and finance. It’s undergraduate business programs rank #48 among the top 50 in U.S.A, while the courses concerning master degrees rank #6 among the top 10 in northern part of U.S.A. Particularly, the accounting major in Bentley is even at the same level as that in MIT. Bentley College sets on 163 acres in Waltham, Massachusetts, just beside Boston. There’re nearly 4000 undergraduates, (8% international students) and 1200 postgraduates (12% international students). Speaker: Mr. Tom Doctoroff, Northeast Asia Area Director and Greater China CEO in JWT Language: English Mr. Doctoroff completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL) in 1985 and his MBA at the University of Chicago in 1989. Having started his advertising career at Leo Burnett (Chicago) in 1989, Mr. Doctoroff jumped ship and joined JWT Chicago in 1992. In 1994, Mr. Doctoroff moved to Hong Kong as Regional Business Director. In 1998, he landed in China as the Managing Director of JWT Shanghai, an agency that is now recognized by the marketing and communications industry as one of the finest on the Mainland. In 2002, he was appointed Northeast Asia Area Director (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Korea) and Greater China CEO. Under his stewardship, JWT Northeast Asia has emerged as one of the region’s most synergistically integrated, creatively dynamic and strategically insightful networks. In recognition of his contribution to Shanghai’s economic development, Mr. Doctoroff was a recipient of the prestigious “2004 Magnolia Government Award.” He is also the author of "Billions: Selling to the New Chinese Consumer," a book published by Palgrave MacMillan in January, 2006. The Chinese version of the book was published by Orient Press in January, 2008. Mr. Doctoroff is also one of the torch carriers for the Beijing Olympics 2008. Founded towards the end of the American civil war, JWJ is more than 140 years old. For much of the history, it has been known as the “University of Advertising”. JWT invited everything from advertising research (1912) and branded content (1930) to strategic planning (1968). Some of JWT China’s key clients include: Unilever, DeBeers Group, HSBC, Inbev, Ford, B&Q, Unicharm, Perfetti and Nestle as well as several local enterprises such as Lenovo computers, Yili dairy and Anta shoes.
