Teaching/Research Interests:
Terence Tsai is Associate Professor of Management at CEIBS and Visiting Professor of Management at both Dalian University of Technology and Chang Gung University in Taiwan. Prior to joining CEIBS, he served as Acting Associate Dean (Graduate Studies), Director of Centre for Case Teaching and Research and Acting Director & Associate Director of MBA Programmes at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was also a full-time faculty member of Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in Canada and Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge in England. His research interests include multinational corporations, environmental management, organizational theory (environmental adaptive theories) and Chinese management.
Academic Achievements:
Professor Tsai's scholarly work has appeared on the Journal of General Management, International Studies of Management and Organisation, Journal of Management Studies, Organisation Studies, Business Strategy and the Environment, Asia Case Research Journal, Case Journal of Dalian University of Science and Technology, the Globe and Mail, Harvard China Review, and the Sun Yat-sen Management Review. He has also been an invited speaker at various international management conferences and serves as an advisor and a committee member of the United Nations Environmental Programme, the Academy of Management, the Greening of Industry Network, and the Republic of China Strategic Alliance Society. He is currently on the editorial board of Business Strategy and the Environment and Case Journal of Dalian University of Technology.
Corporate Experience:
Professor Tsai is a Director on the Board of Kings Town Bank in Taiwan, Senior Consultant to the International Business Ethics Institute and was a full-time consultant at the General Electric Company, CH2M HILL Inc., Melzer Management Consulting (Germany) and has acted as an advisor to the National Environmental Protection Agency of China, Environmental Protection Administration of Taiwan, and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. His past consulting clients include organizations such as Gucci, Merck/MSD, Pepsi Cola, Dow Chemicals, Du Pont, ICI, Hoest, Exxon, Acer, Philips, SEQUA and UMC.
