Selection Procedure

The EU-China MBA Scholarships selection involves a three-stage procedure:

  1. Admission into the CEIBS MBA Programme.
    Potential applicants to the Scholarships must fulfill all criteria set by the CEIBS MBA Office and must have secured a place to study the MBA Programme at CEIBS. For details on the CEIBS MBA and entry criteria, click here.

  2. Students admitted to the CEIBS MBA Programme, and who were born and/or studied and/or worked in the provinces that fulfill the criteria of “disadvantaged region” will be listed for consideration of the Europe-China Scholarships. Disadvantaged provinces are defined as those with annual GDP per capita below RMB20,000.

    For the 2008 award, the provinces that qualify are: Hebei, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Xinjiang, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, Chongqing, Hainan, Hunan, Shanxi, Qinghai, Ningxia, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Xizang, Anhui, Guangxi, Gansu, Yunnan and Guizhou

    The CEIBS Associated Dean (MBA) will invite 20 best qualified students for interviews with the Scholarship Selection Board.

  3. The 20 short-listed candidates will be invited to attend an interview in Beijing by the Scholarship Selection Board (SSB). Among the criteria that the SSB would consider include the candidate’s relationships with the disadvantaged region, their personal need for financial support and their future contribution to the disadvantaged region.
