The first chapter of CEIBS Alumni Association: Wuxi Chapter was established officially on November 1. And soon after that on November 5, Suzhou Chapter was officially established. The establishment of these two regional chapters symbolized that alumni organizations are booming with CEIBS' graduates all over China.
Vice Dean Zhang Guohua attended both chapters' opening ceremonies and he conveyed the warmest congratulations on behalf of CEIBS. Dean Zhang said that alumni play an active role not only in the regional economy, but also in the global economies; and the establishment of regional chapter provides a huge platform to strengthen the connection and interaction with alumni for smoother information and resources sharing. Dean Zhang also stressed that the aim of alumni organization is to assist them in achieving greater success in their career cross the region and he also hopes that alumni would take the golden chance of China's economic reform to realize greater business and career accomplishment.
Dean Zhang made an announcement with excitement that CEIBS will participate "2005 World Economy Forum" in Davos. This project will kick off next year, which coincides with the 10th anniversary of CEIBS. Dean Zhang also informed the attending alumni that CEIBS EMBA program is ranked world's 34th according to the recent annual ranking by British Financial Times. CEIBS has entered the World Top 50 list for three consecutive years. Dean Zhang expressed sincere appreciation to all alumni since the success of school is closely linked to the success of its alumni. The success of CEIBS is the success of its alumni.
Wuxi and Suzou have 27 and 41 registered alumni respectively. Regional chapter heads expressed that they would organize regional alumni events under the motto of CEIBS: "Conscientiousness, Innovation and Excellence" in order to serve the alumni in their life long learning, to promote the development of local economy, and to enhance the influence of Suzhou and Wuxi.
In the opening ceremony of Alumni Association Suzhou Chapter, Prof. Wu Jinglian, the Bao Steel Chair in Economics of CEIBS gave a speech and the topic is "Analysis and Prospect of Economic Situation - How to achieve stable and effective growth". Professor Wu also answered alumni's questions.
